About Doug Koenig

Mr. Douglas Koenig is a graduate of the Michigan State University College of Law where he was involved in the business law and alternative dispute resolution programs. The College of Law is an established and accomplished institution in many areas. His undergraduate work was at Dartmouth College and he holds a degree in Engineering from Thayer School. Mr. Koenig's prior engineering and business experience contribute a strong foundation to his Juris Doctor.

Mr. Koenig is experienced in matters of transactional business law, contracts and licensing, licensing and assignment of intellectual property, wills and estates, bankruptcies, and dispute resolution. He has worked with numerous small business and nonprofit clients in North Carolina and a growing Elder Law practice is expanding his expertise in areas such as social security and disability, estates planning, and domestic issue resolution.

Not everyone can afford reasonable legal representation, so Mr. Koenig regularly offers his services to various programs, including LEAP (via the NC Bar Association), Legal Aid of North Carolina, and other organizations.

Mr. Koenig worked for Ford Motor Company in Michigan prior to locating in North Carolina.

Church matters are important to Mr. Koenig and he spends time participating in and leading bible study groups. He also enjoys sailing, photography, traveling, and, of course, friends and family! Mr. Koenig is married to his wife of 34 years and has three grown children.
